Other vegetables offer a great opportunity for creating new types of fries. Whether baked or fried, lightly seasoned or covered in herbs, there’s something for everyone.
Here are some inspirations:
Change up your potato
Sweet potatoes are a great alternative to potatoes, but even using a different kind of potato (fingerlings, maybe?) or switching things up to a crinkle-cut can add a new spin.
Baked parmesan asparagus fries
A quick egg wash rolled in Panko and parmesan makes an already tasty spear go perfectly with a well-seasoned burger.
Parmesan zucchini fries
Basically the same as the asparagus fries, but with a bit meatier veggie. Yum!
Baked parsnip fries with rosemary
A great texture with an herby zip from rosemary that pairs great with any burger or bun!
Chickpea fries
Low-carb and grain-free, these guys are hassle-free, too.
Portobello fries
Thick, meaty mushrooms give great structure and flavor to these baked beauties.
Rutabaga fries
High in flavor, low in sugar, rutabaga fries are a potassium-rich fry alternative.
